NC IDEA SEED Grant
Who can apply
- Small businesses
Startups headquartered in North Carolina with most operations there and at least one full-time founder living in NC, with a minimum viable product and revenue or a clear path to it. Companies with over $250K trailing revenue ($500K for food and beverage), over $250K in equity raised or over $1M in grants are less likely to be considered; high-capital, long-timeline companies such as pharma are ineligible. Consumer packaged goods companies must have revenue; food and beverage companies must have at least $75,000 in annual revenue.
About this grant
NC IDEA awards $50,000 grants, paid in milestone-based tranches over 6-12 months, to about 5-7 high-growth North Carolina startups per cycle. Recipients must keep most operations in NC for 12 months after the grant. Apply online during the spring or fall cycle.
