About this grant

Grants to plan and develop applications for proposed USDA Rural Development water or waste-disposal projects. Awards are limited to $60,000 or 75% of predevelopment planning costs. If a USDA project grant follows, this planning grant is deducted from total grant eligibility; the planning grant need not be repaid if the subsequent direct-loan or loan-and-grant application is unsuccessful. Start with the local Rural Development office.
